Miraculous Story of Faith, Grace & Love

Barbara Moore is the oldest daughter of Doris Anderson; the 76 year old Sandy Woman who was found alive after fourteen days in the rugged Wallowa Mountains.  Barbara is writing Hidden in the Valley, the miraculous story of the survival and rescue of her mother.  This is a story of faith, trust and unbelievable victory as the family experienced God in the valley of the shadow of death.  Doris Anderson was lost and presumed dead by most of the world.  However, against all odds, she was found alive.  For the family it was like getting her back from the dead.  This story was international news during August and September 2007.

Doris walked through the 23rd Psalm.  Each chapter correlates part of the Psalm with her story.  Long before Doris left on the Elk hunting trip with her husband, Harold, and was lost in the Wallowa Mountains, she needed to be rescued.  She was overcome with an enemy too strong for her.  She could not escape his grip.  Her enemy was fear.  Her family was unable to loose her from the cords that entangled her and cried out to the Lord to deliver her from her torment.  However, they never dreamed that their loved one would be lost in the wilderness, alone in the dark, surrounded by bears and mountain lions, cold without shelter or protection or food.  Nor did they ever imagine that fourteen days in the valley of the shadow of death was where the fear would be defeated.  Just as King David, a shepherd boy, rescued the sheep from the lion and the bear.  The Lord, Doris Anderson’s shepherd, rescued her from the lion, bear and jaws of fear.

Signs, wonders and miracles fill this amazing story from beginning to end.  Hidden in the Valley is truly an encouraging, inspiring story that needs to be shared with the world.  Barbara went to the Wallowa’s on the anniversary of the hunting trip that began on August 23rd, 2007.  The two officers, Travis Ash and Chris Hawkins who found her mother alive, retraced the steps of her mother and father’s misadventure.  They took her through the valley of the shadow of death where they found her mother dying.  Both Doris and Barbara will be present at Spirit on the Mountain, Sunday September 21st to share a testimony of faithfulness, grace and love of God to His own.
